Within the framework of our Corporate Social Responsibility and in line with our values, we are committed to and act proactively to minimize the environmental impact of our economic activity.
This commitment, which is fully integrated into the company policy of Oliva Torras, can be seen in our Environmental Management System, based on the UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard, which, among other things, focuses on:
The generation and management of waste
• Sourcing and prioritizing the use of highly recyclable raw materials in the design and manufacture of products.
• Optimization of the reuse of surplus and excess raw materials in production processes.
• Optimal arrangement of bins and areas for the correct classification and storage of specialized and non-specialized waste.
• Correct waste management under the supervision of authorized managers.
The consumption of energy resources and raw materials
• Reducing electricity consumption through the optimization of the interior lighting system in the buildings by replacing discharge lamps with LED lighting.
• Increasing self-sufficiency in electrical energy by installing photovoltaic solar panels on building roofs.
• Optimizing natural gas consumption for industrial processes and heating.
Controlling and reducing emissions and discharges
• Complying with current regulations on the control of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
• Controlling the purification of waste water from the paint facilities.
All these issues are routinely checked by the appropriate indicators and included in the review of the integrated quality and environmental management system.
Besides these ongoing objectives, we regularly carry out specific improvement measures. For instance, in 2025 we have implemented measures in the following areas:
• During 2025, 8.43% less electrical energy was consumed.
• With photovoltaic panels, grid consumption was 77.07% and the remaining 22.98% was self-consumption.
• Raw material consumption was reduced by 3.6%, mainly stainless steel and aluminum. There has also been less consumption of production gases, 26.1% less than in 2024.
• Of the 28 wastes managed, 21 are recoverable, 1 goes to landfill and 6 to treatment.
• Of the waste from painting, 7.78% less solvent residue and 3.49% less paint dust residue have been generated.
• As a result of the decrease in raw material consumption, sheet metal cutting residue has also been reduced by 15.3% and laser dust residue by 13.1%.
• Aerosol residue has also decreased by 53.3%.
• The reductions reflected are the consequence of having more energy-efficient machinery.
• With the separate management of waste and organic waste, it has been possible to reduce waste by 0.6%.
• The company has joined the SCRAP (Collective System of Extended Producer Responsibility) with IMPLICA for the management of packaging waste, which includes wood, paper/cardboard and plastic packaging.
• Cardboard waste has decreased by 8.7%, plastic waste by 13% and wood waste by 2.26%.
• The cost of waste management has decreased by 24.23% compared to 2024 management.
• Training has been provided to all company staff on sustainability.
• Installation has begun to reduce gas consumption in heating bath 1 of the parts degreasing chain before painting them, taking advantage of the surplus energy from photovoltaic panels.
• Acquisition of sustainable refrigeration machines.
